Eligibility for Application
Applicants must satisfy the following criterion.
Minimum grade criteria: 60% or equivalent in qualifying degree would be needed for admission into all programs mentioned in the table below.

Admission Procedure
Applicants are first screened based on their application, which includes their academic performance in relevant subjects, standard exam scores (such as GATE), merit scholarships (such as CSIR-UGC NET) and CV/relevant work experience in IT industry/R&D labs. Shortlisted applicants are invited in person to the IIIT Hyderabad campus for a written test, followed by a technical interview. Final selection is based on performance in the interview. The decision of the interview committee is final and binding.

Tuition Fee and Financial Support for PhD Programmes
Tuition fees and financial support for the academic year 2025-26 is listed on this page.
- Full-time Ph.D. students are given scholarships that provide a monthly stipend between Rs. 31,000/- to Rs. 35,000/- depending on the stage of the student in the Ph.D. program.
- Students are provided generous travel support to present their published research work in reputed conferences.
Many of our Ph.D. students have been awarded corporate fellowships such as from Google, TCS. The fellowship amount under these schemes is Rs 50,000/- per month.
